Incoming Assistant Professor, Nanyang Technological University

Recent Highlights

🚀 I will join the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) as an Assistant Professor starting September 2026.

I am actively recruiting:

  • PhD students (Spring/Fall 2027 intake)
  • Postdoctoral fellows
  • Research assistants

Research areas include wearable robotics, human locomotion, balance control, biomechanics, and human-robot interaction. Our vision is to develop intelligent robotic systems that enhance human mobility, stability, and physical performance through robotics, biomechanics, and real-time human-in-the-loop control.

Please feel free to reach out if you are interested in joining the lab or collaborating.
Join the Lab

My research focuses on understanding human locomotion and balance, and developing wearable robotic systems that enhance mobility, stability, and physical performance.

I combine biomechanics, robotics, control theory, and human movement science to study how humans interact with assistive devices such as ankle exoskeletons. My work aims to uncover the principles underlying human balance control and translate these insights into the design of intelligent robotic systems that improve walking in both healthy individuals and clinical populations.

Current research topics in the lab include:

  • Human balance quantification and perturbation-response analysis
  • Real-time control of wearable robotic systems
  • Human adaptation to robotic assistance
  • Data-driven modeling of locomotion and stability
  • Bio-inspired control strategies for exoskeletons
  • Human-in-the-loop optimization and personalized assistance
